  1. Make sure you only spend what you can realistically afford and don’t use credit cards to justify your Xmas spend

  2. I save the Christmas gift bags and remove tags and reuse. Only buy my gift wrap in the January sale and try to buy plain silver wrap too, which can be used for all occasions all year round.

  3. I buy all my cards, paper and some presents in the January sales. Then buy throughout the year and save up my nectar and quidco points

  4. If you know what gifts you are likely to buy for people then keep an eye on product prices throughout the year, you can often get things reduced.
