My Weightloss Story Using Hypnotherapy on a Mrs Mummypenny Budget – Update 2

Wow what an amazing response to my blog post on the 12th July. I shared my incredibly personal story with the online world and got so much feedback and love back again. 1000’s of people have read my blog and seen the posts on social media. Food and overeating is an issue for many people and most women I know struggle with their weight.

So I thought I would start today with a photo, now this is not something I enjoy doing but here is a picture of me at the end of Jun at my work leaving do. There’s not many full body shots of me out there, not that I would normally publish but here is one. I hate this; I know that is an awful thing to say but I do hate this. I look dumpy, fat, whatever you want to call it I hate it and it has to change.

So I am now 8 weeks into cognitive hypnotherapy. I had my 3rd and last session Thursday 9th July. I spoke last time about how I’m feeling and thinking differently about food and exercise. Everyday at the moment something happens which is a surprise, a different way of living life for me.

My Progress – Exercise

Twice in the past week I have gone out for a run and it feels easier. That is a strange thing to think is possible. Last night by 5pm I had only tracked 3,000 steps on my phone and hubby wanted to take the boys out for a bike ride. Instead I ran to the local recreation ground with Dylan (who wasn’t even out of breath by the time we got there!) and Josh rode his bike. Hubby met us there with there with the little one Jack who cant run or ride a bike yet! We did a circuit of the rec and then I did 16 minutes of interval training.  3 miles later and a bit of running around the park with the boys I had reached 9,000 steps!

My Progress – Food

Healthy choices are being made with food. Yesterday we had marinaded pork (from Trussell’s) with salad (Church farm Ardeley) for dinner, the day before we had roast chicken (again from my favourite butchers Trussell’s) and vegetables, the day before it was roasted seabass and stuff mushrooms. Here is the sea bass and stuffed mushrooms.

I’ll share the marinade recipe as it was very yummy. Marinade your meat for as long as possible to get full on taste. This serves 4 just throw the following into a bowl:

  • 1/2 cup (120ml) of worcester sauce, I used the one with tangy tomato added as well
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) of balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup (60ml)of soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons of minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper

Add the meat to the bowl and mix it all up. Leave in fridge for as long as possible.

My Progress – Thought processes/emotions

So I mentioned in my first post that my thought processes have changed. I don’t think about food all of the time and I only eat when I am hungry. This continues to be true. Its such a relief to not think about food all of the time and to enjoy the healthy choices I make when out and about. But also I don’t feel guilty if I have a little treat. Yesterday the icecream van was at school for the last day of term and I had a 99 Mr Whippy. Okay so Jack nicked my chocolate flake but I felt no guilt in buying and eating it.

I am feeling more alert, lighter and happier. I am getting enough sleep. Its really incredible the transformation of my mind talk & unconscious mind

My Progress – Weightloss

The big question remains how much weight have I lost? 11 days ago I had lost 7lbs, now I am up to 11lbs. All in 8 weeks. Not bad I say:-)
